Reflections of Time, Like Ripples in My Mind

Reflections in my mind become passing images through time.

Song birds singing sweet melodies through the air making the day a wonderful affair, a squirrel above me on a limb reaching out over the pond before me drops an acorn in the water, making me aware.

The acorn hit the waters surface sending reverberation through time and space causing waves to project outward in all directions never ceasing until landing on the surrounding shores afar.

A moment of silence is heard and then an owl breaks the air announcing his presence is near. The song birds resume their melody becoming the back drop for this day of harmony. The nearby grass rustles as the lizards go dashing and the turtles are prancing about looking for a meal no doubt.

Gazing back into the pond with ripples spreading outward, my mind reflects upon deeper images, bringing a lonely tear to trickle down my sullen face. As lonely as this tear is upon my cheek so too, am I a lonely man in a world of selfish deed and human contempt. So few are we, my brethren spread afar.

So few are they that truly want to understand, lovely is a man’s walk when he accompanies the Lord down this narrow path leading to the Kingdom’s gates. For, so many around me have filled their lives with great despair yet they’re attainment of mammon and wealth abounds, engaging in many affairs here too and everywhere.

Lonely is the man whom walks with God as He wanders here and there, traveling all around, walking about here and yonder. He places a thought in me and stirring my mind, He causes me to ponder,

“Perfect is that which I have done,” He says, “There is no more need for reformation of your religious ways. Through My Son, the journey and battle is won. At the completion of His mission, He declared, ‘It is done.”

Follow Him that with the Father we too may be one.

Our joy will be like children playing in the noon day sun.
