A Dessert Episode I in Utah

Nicholas takes his faith very serious and loves to spend time communicating with Heavenly Father away from the hustle and bustle of streets. He got a real opportunity when his van broke down in Utah with a broken engine. He and his daughter Renee and son Nicholas Jr., left his hometown, Federal Way, Washington on the 28th of August to join Cephas Ministry in Zephyrhills, FLorida. His engine lost it and due to Labor Day weekend had to camp in a KOA campground for just about a week. The mechanic was not available until Tuesday to start work on replacing the engine. Nicholas expects to start rolling again on Friday. He made good use of the time he had to spend as you will see in the next two letters. May the Lord bless you with his choicest blessings and keep you following Christ Jesus until we get to leave this planet and join Him. In Christ Jesus, Cephas Ministry We Trust In The Living God  ~ A Dessert Episode I in Utah The sky above me is sculptured with thunder heads on a blue backdrop. The canyon surrounding me is red sandstone and wind sculptured pillars fill the landscape all around me. The rock faces and monoliths are sprinkled with caves and smaller arches formed by centuries of wind carving. The layers of sandstone are evident by changing colors from deep clay red to white and the scene is not unlike it was after the flood waters receded forming a new land during the time of Noah. I came across a cave atop one of the bluffs and sat in it. Taking up the majestic view of towering pillars before me I began to praise God with an open and contrite heart. I confessed that He has sent me out to do a task and that I needed His help beyond what I myself could not do alone. I reaffirmed the mission that is before me and prayed many thanksgivings for the support and provision He ultimately provides. I thanked Him for all His empowering grace and Word of truth and I thanked Him for the humility he affords me. I then prayed for more understanding, strength, courage, wisdom and discernment and prayed for the people. I prayed that the Father would forgive the people of this land who are ignorant because they know not what they do. I prayed also that the teachers, scribes, religious heretics, false prophets and priests be granted a double portion for all their apostasy and abomination, for they have led all the people astray and because of them, many hearts have grown hard. So many hear but do not understand and so many give advise for a fee but they are blind. God promises He will repay. He reaffirms to me in a clear voice that I am to speak His Word again and not shrink back. I felt as though He were smiling on me as He watches me overcome the human condition. I then prayed repentance for my sins and then also for the sins of the people. I prayed that the number assigned to awaken from their long slumber will awake and receive the message that we are about to enter the third day. The Lord's Spirit reminds me that on the morning of the third day, our Lord's chosen will be resurrected and taken up and then the earth will undergo it final stages of baptism by fire. Soon, very soon says the Spirit in me. I gave thanks for the opportunity to serve and asked only that He grant me the appropriate measure of strength and resolve and acknowledged that in my weakness I am made strong in Him. Again, I fully surrendered and gave thanks for Him hearing our prayers and those of my Brethren scattered abroad. I closed with singing aloud, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord." The cave I was in was like a resonating chamber and my voice echoed across the small canyon and between the ancient pillars. But for the Holy Spirit, no one was there to hear my prayers, petitions and praises but the snakes, scorpions and lizards. I do know that in that place today, I heard the Word of the Lord and He heard my petition. AMEN A note to my Brethren, family and friends from the Great Basin in southern Utah. "Faith will overcome all hindrances known to man." thus declares the Spirit in me.
